Outlook Express 4 - Mail

SMTP Auth and SSL

Isp City email may also be configured for SMTP Authentication and SSL encryption for outgoing email. Please note that SMTP Auth and SSL are optional and are not required to use Isp City email.

For further information and setup instructions, see the links below. NOTE: Please configure SMTP Auth or SSL after first configuring your email program for your Isp City email.

  • SMTP Authentication
  • SSL Encryption (outgoing)
  • SSL Encryption (incoming)
  • Open Outlook Express, click the Tools menu and choose Accounts. Click the Add button and choose Mail.

    Enter your name in the Display name field. Click Next.

    Enter your email address. Click Next.

    Choose POP3 in the first box. Enter your Isp City mail servers in the Incoming and Outgoing mail server boxes. Click Here for the list of Isp City Mail Servers. Click Next.

    Enter your email username or Isp City email address in the format of username@ Isp City.net and password into the POP account name and Password fields in lowercase letters.. DO NOT click Log on using Secure Password Authentication. Click Next.

    Next it will ask for a Friendly Name for this account. It should already show the mail server name. Click Next.

    Choose your Connection Type:

    • DSL and Cable users should choose Connect using my Local Area Network (LAN) and click Next.
    • Dialup users should choose Connect using my phone lineand click Next. On the following screen, Select your Modem from the list and click Next. Choose your Isp City dialup connection and click Next

    Click Finish. Close the Internet Accounts window to return to Outlook Express.

     


    Help us help you! If you contact Isp City support for assistance please write down any error messages you get when trying to connect to the Internet. Include the name and version of your operating system and the exact text of all error messages. If this information is included in an online case submission or provided to a support representative, it will greatly speed up the troubleshooting process.

    Please be aware that some troubleshooting may require uninstallation and reinstallation of operating system files. To ensure that this type of troubleshooting can be accomplished if required, please be sure that you have to have original Operating System CD or Operating system source files on disk on hand.
