How to import an address book
Outlook Express 5 and 6
Outlook Express address books use a .wab file for saving email addresses and other information.
- Open Outlook Express.
- On the Tools menu, select Address Book.
- Select File then Import then Other Address Book... from teh address book menu.
- Select Text File (Comma Separated Values).
- Click the Import button.
- Locate the address book file you want to import using the Browse... button and click Open.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish and then OK.
- Click the Close button.
Netscape 4.x
Address books are stored in .nab and .na2 files.
- Open Netscape Communicator.
- Click Communicator on the menu and select Tools.
- Click on Import Utility.
- Select the import format and click Next.
- Locate the address book you want to import and select it.
- Click Open.
Netscape 6
Address books are stored in a .mab file.
- Open Netscape.
- Click Communicator on the menu and select Address Book.
- Click File on the Address Book window and select Import.
- Select Address Book and click Next.
- Select the type of address you are importing and click Next.
- Locate the address book you want to import and select it.
- Click Open.
Netscape 7
Address books are stored in a .mab file.
- Open Netscape. You can also open Netscape Mail and start at step 3.
- Click on the Window menu and select Address Book.
- Click the Tools menu and select Import. The Import wizard window will open.
- Click on Address Books and click Next.
- Select the program the original address book came from and click Next.
- Navigate to the address book file you want to import and click the file to select it. The name of the file should appear in the File name: box.
- Click the Open button.
- Select Home or Work and click Next.
- After receiving the message that the import was successful, click Finish.
- The imported address book should appear in the Address Books list on the left side of the Address Book window.
